Happy Easter…in strange times

From Chamber Choir Ireland’s CEO:

As our strange times continue indefinitely, on behalf of everyone at Chamber Choir Ireland, I would like to wish all our supporters, friends, collaborators and fans a very healthy and happy Easter weekend.  Today, Chamber Choir Ireland was to have performed Bach’s magnificent St John Passion in the National Concert Hall with our friends in the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra – but coronavirus Covid-19 had other plans for us today.  We very much look forward to plotting and planning another outing with NSO in the near future.

We continue to take decisions on a daily and weekly basis with regard to our events in the coming months, but central to that is the health and well-being of our artists, staff, and you, our audience.  We continue to be immeasurably grateful to the Arts Council /an Chomhairle Ealaíon for its early and clear communication that they will continue to support our organisations and artists through this difficult time and we will, in turn, do everything we can to ensure our artists are looked after as almost all of their work has disappeared.

You’ll see below some of the ways in which you can still hear CCI perform, and we’ll send some more regular updates about other opportunities to listen in to pre-recorded CCI lectures and events.  But in the meantime, stay in touch with us,  listen in to us – and let us know you’re listening!  Most importantly, all of us at CCI wish that you all stay safe, healthy and happy and hope that our small online choral offerings may provide some uplift in these most challenging times.

Stay tuned…
We may not be able to bring you live performances in real-time, just for now, but we continue to plan some online events as well as provide some other online content suggestions.
