Cork International Choral Festival Seminar

Friday 28th of April, Curtis Auditorium: CIT School of Music 2 pm,  Free of charge

Committed to furthering learning and participation of choral arts, Chamber Choir Ireland with Artistic Director Paul Hillier, will lead a seminar on new choral music and it’s performance as part of Cork International Choral Festival’s annual symposium. This seminar will offer attendees a relevant and engaging approach to how texts are selected, the related process of composing music appropriate to the text, and the input of the singers as to its accessibility. There will be a discussion on the jointly commissioned new work Ne Reminiscaris by David Fennessy, as well as a performance reading of the winner of this year’s Seán Ó Riada Composition Competition, Scél Lemm Dúiḃ, by Criostóir Ó Loingsigh.
