Regular Soprano Position

Chamber Choir Ireland is a trailblazer in Ireland presenting unique and innovative choral music programmes from rarely heard early music, through well-known choral classics, to cutting edge premieres and commissions. CCI presents excellence in professional choral music in Ireland and on an international platform.

A vacancy has arisen for a regular soprano position and auditions will be held with Artistic Director Paul Hillier on Saturday 2 November 2019

Applications will normally only be considered from professional singers, or advanced students with experience of vocal ensemble performance, and whose schedule offers no barrier to daytime rehearsal, concerts on weekdays, touring etc. This regular position involves a commitment of approximately eight, week-long projects per annum as well as a growing portfolio of learning and participation work.

  • A short recording of you performing solo repertoire either with keyboard accompaniment or unaccompanied;
  • A detailed biography that outlines professional choral experience, and current professional commitments;
  • Two written references ideally from people who know your singing in a professional choral context.

Audition requirements:

To sing two pieces in two different languages other than English. One should be Baroque or early Classical and the other a Romantic or early modern art song. (No operatic arias.) There may also be a short sight-reading test.

The auditions will be held at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. An accompanist will be provided by CCI.
