This November, we are delighted to welcome Nils Schweckendiek, Artistic Director of the Helsinki Chamber Choir, as our Guest Director for a concert entitled Soul Peace.
The concert will feature two madrigals by Paul Hindemith, the Irish Premiere of a work by Eugene Birman, a psalm in three movements by Amy Beach, the second outing of Amanda Feery’s Longwave (commissioned in 2020 by Chamber Choir Ireland and Cork International Choral Festival), and Five Gaelic Hymns—rare gems by the long-overlooked Irish composer Ina Boyle.
Soul Peace will take place in chapel at the All Hallows campus of DCU, Drumcondra.
During his stay, Nils will also work with three composers as part of the Choral Sketches programme, delivered by Chamber Choir Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre.
