Alice Goodman interview

Earlier this year we were fortunate enough to work with librettist Alice Goodman on our A Letter of Rights project.

During a coinciding workshop – Choral Sketches – which was run in association with the Contemporary Music Centre, audiences were treated to an insightful and fascinating discussion between Alice and the Irish Times music critic Michael Dervan.

The conversation ranged from Alice’s fascinating career to the relationship between librettist and composer with lots in between and can be viewed below.

Alice was in Dublin for Chamber Choir Ireland’s A Letter of Rights project, for which she collaborated with composer Tarik O’Regan on the libretto for a large-scale work for chamber choir and chamber orchestra, inspired by the Magna Carta. Paired with Handel’s Dixit Dominus, the project toured to Dublin, Belfast and Limerick. More on the A Letter of Rights project can be viewed HERE
