Chamber Choir Ireland joins forces with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra for the first live performance of Irene Buckley’s opera, The Lament for Art O’Leary at New Music Dublin 2025.

The Lament for Art O'Leary is a new orchestration composed for the Lyric Feature for performance by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Chamber Choir Ireland and soloists.

The libretto, by poet Vona Groarke, is based on Chaoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire, the famous poem written by Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill in the aftermath of her husband’s murder in 1773.

The programme will also feature the Irish premiere of Olga Neuwirth's Miramondo Multiplo and the world premiere of a new piano concerto by Ed Bennett.
