Abbi TempleSoprano

Abbi enjoys a varied freelance career, combining her CCI role with opera, oratorio, consort and recital singing.  In 2014 she sang the title role in Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen as part of Co-Opera Co.’s Summer Development Programme and in July 2015 she looks forward to performing at Longborough Festival Opera as Atalanta in Handel’s Xerxes.  Past opera roles have included Susanna and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan Tutte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Musetta (La Bohème), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Polly Peachum (The Beggar’s Opera), Giannetta (L’Elisir d’Amore),  Belinda & 2nd Woman (Dido & Aeneas) and Euridice (Monteverdi L’Orfeo).

Equally at home on stage or on the concert platform, Abbi is an experienced Oratorio soloist, performing regularly with choral societies around the UK.  Before joining Chamber Choir Ireland, she sang with various UK and European Ensembles, including The Gabrieli ConsortArs Nova CopenhagenTheatre of Voices, The English Concert, La Grande Chapelle and English Voices.

Abbi is a member of the 5-voice ensemble Papagena, a group which explores the wealth of music written specifically for women’s voices, from the 11th century to present day.
