Résonances

St Ann's Church, Dawson Street, Dublin
12 October 2019

Chamber Choir Ireland is joined by renowned Swedish conductor, Sofi Jeannin, for a concert of stunning French choral compositions also featuring additional works for solo piano.

Energetic, sensible, fun, charming and a phenomenally inspiring conductor of singers and orchestras alike, Sofi Jeannin is currently Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers, a post she formally took up in September 2018 – the first female conductor in the role. Equally at home with contemporary music, and extended vocal techniques, Sofi Jeannin is one of the most versatile choral conductors around today, gleaning a wealth of experience from her time with the French Radio Chorus, and la Maîtrise de Radio France, where she continues as Music Director, as well as her background as a classically-trained mezzo.

For the performance, CCI will be joined by the pianist Alexander Bernstein both to accompany some of the choral works and to perform some solo French piano repertoire.

Presented in partnership with the French Embassy in Ireland.
