Auditions September 2025
Chamber Choir Ireland will hold in-person auditions with newly appointed Artistic Director Gabriel Crouch in Dublin on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 September 2025, to fill soprano, tenor, and baritone contract positions as well as deputy positions in all voice parts.
Chamber Choir Ireland is the country’s premier professional choral ensemble under the Artistic Direction of esteemed conductor, Gabriel Crouch. CCI’s repertoire spans from early music through to contemporary works with a substantial proportion of its work dedicated to new music.
A typical working week/project is 20-25 hours of rehearsal with performances both nationally and internationally, and an average of 10 projects per year. CCI’s singers therefore have a very high standard of musicianship, extensive professional singing experience, and the capacity to cover a wide-range of difficult repertoire in very short rehearsal periods.
Applications will only be considered from professional singers who can fulfil the above requirements, or those who are embarking on a professional singing career with demonstrable professional choral singing experience.
If circumstances prevent attendance in Dublin on the specified dates but you would like to be considered, please contact us to enquire about the possibility of scheduling an alternative audition. Please note that this cannot be guaranteed.
To apply for shortlisting, please submit the following:
- A short recording of you performing solo repertoire either with keyboard accompaniment or unaccompanied;
- A detailed biography (1-side A4) that outlines music education, professional choral experience, and current professional singing commitments;
- The names of two referees who can detail your professional choral experience or choral music education.
Deadline for applications: 5pm, Friday 18 July 2025
All material should be submitted to Hannah Millington: [email protected]
Applications will be shortlisted based on performance experience and skill as demonstrated in the submitted recording and biography. Only those on the shortlist will be invited to audition. Depending on the number of applicants, applications for the above contract position vacancies may be prioritised.
Audition requirements:
To sing two contrasting pieces in two different languages (although only one may be heard). One should be Baroque or early Classical and the other a Romantic or early modern art song.
A sight-singing test may be heard.
An accompanist will be available for all auditions.
